Ah, what a sleep! [Oct 25, 2001|07:57]

[Noise |Oleander - Stupid]

The fact that I went to bed before 1 am really astounded me. I slept quite well, despite all the thoughts swirling through my cortex. I think this weekend I'll buy another game for my PS2. Batman: Vengeance will probably be my next purchase, seeing as NFL Blitz won't come out now until December. Of course, I still want Gran Turismo 3. The thing that sparked my interest on the Batman game is the cape having its own AI. I read the little blurb in this month's Wired and thought "Weird! His cape with its own AI. For some reason, I want to see that." Perhaps I'll end up renting the Batman game first just to make sure I won't be disenchanted if I were to purchase it. All the reviews I've seen so far are quite positive, so maybe the rental will be unnecessary. Hell, maybe I'll forego both of those now and pick up Madden 2002, but I hear the commentary on that is nowhere near as lively as it is on NHL 2002, which is chock-full of corny jokes. I hate being indecisive, but at least it saves money.

Heh! [Oct 25, 2001|09:11]
[Disposition |timid]

I scored 4 on the pervertedlogic.com CyberWhore Poll!

You're a TIMID TYPIST!

Since you've finally gotten yourself on this new-fangled internet thingy, you've gone out of your way to avoid anything that might sully the pure image you hold of yourself. You're simply above all that, right? Hmmm... what's this here in your history folder? http://www.goatse.cx?

My little shopping escapade [Oct 25, 2001|20:53]
[Disposition |refreshedrefreshed]
[Noise |George Thorogood & The Destroyers - One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer]

I ended up going to Mishawaka again (can you tell I'm starting to get a feel for that area?), and I did pick up Batman: Vengeance. I was surprised that the Best Buy and the Meijer down there didn't have it. Electronics Boutique had it, but they wanted $55 for it. I picked it up for $5 less at the Wal-Mart closest to the University Park Mall.

On my little jaunt, I noticed that areas on the west side of Elkhart and the west side of White Pigeon were hard hit. I saw not one but two traffic signals that were dark because of power failures related to the storm. In White Pigeon, basically the power poles that line the track were somehow ripped out up to a half mile from US-12. And west of Elkhart, numerous trees were uprooted. It's as if someone had said, "Eh, let's pull these trees from the ground. It shouldn't be too difficult." That's how storms tend to be. There also seemed to be a lot of kids out of school, because the mall was packed on a Thursday afternoon at 1:15 (Indiana time no less). Malls should never be packed on a school day in the early afternoon. It was also awfully windy. I topped off my gas tank at a Marathon for $1.009 per gallon (a Speedway had $.999 a few miles back, but a much longer wait).

But the long and the short of it was I needed another drive to relax me. And to see the damage caused by last night's storm just reassures my insignificance when compared to the forces of nature. Plus, it satisfies my roadgeek tendencies (I love to drive through SPUIs).
